Miscorrection Release Schedule

It's been a crazy few months on the writing and release front. Back in January I released the third novelette in the Miscorrection series, Felix Culpa. Then I started working on the fourth novelette. In between that, on a whim, I wrote and released two short stories, Copy Bird and Going Home. Originally, I had planned to release the fourth Miscorrection novelette at the end of March, but I hit a bump in the road.

What was the bump? Well, my editor decided to go and have a baby with his wife. Can you believe him? The nerve of some people. All joking aside though, I debated having someone else do the editing, but since he helped with the first three, I decided to wait until he was ready. Unfortunately, this has caused a delay in the release of the fourth Miscorrection novelette. But there is good news!

What's the good news? Because of the delay, I decided to take a different approach to releasing the novelettes. Here's how it will go: The fourth novelette will release. One month later the fifth novelette will release. Then, a month after that, the sixth novelette will release. This will wrap up the story for Book I of the series.

Currently, the first drafts of stories four and five are complete. And I plan to begin writing the sixth within the week. So I'm on schedule for the writing end of things. Hopefully, story four will come out some time in May, and then I will release everything based on the schedule listed above.

There is a benefit to me writing the stories in this way, and I think I will adopt this format with Book II. The end of story four will also contain a teaser of the fifth story. And the fifth story will contain a teaser for the sixth story. My hope is to whet your appetite and make you anticipate the next story's release. I also plan to go back to the e-book files that I have already released and add in teasers for those, too. This way, new readers should have an incentive to continue reading.

It's been a little over a year since I started writing Miscorrection and I have to say I have learned a lot in that time. I can't believe I'm on the verge of finishing the first book! It's very exciting to reach this milestone in writing the story and in what happens at the end of Book I.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about this revised system for releasing the stories in the Miscorrection books. Please let me know your opinion in the comments below.

How to Make a Face Mask

The United States' president and some governors are now recommending people wear a face mask to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. They're also asking that the N95 masks be reserved for healthcare workers as they help those who are suffering from the virus.

In light of this, you might be wondering if you can make one yourself?

In the video below, my wife demonstrates how to make a reusable face mask for you and your family. Though this won't guarantee prevention of the spread of the virus, it is in line with what we're being asked. Every little bit can help!

Quaratined or Stuck at Home? Here are some free books.

The global crisis regarding the COVID-19 virus (or coronavirus) is affecting anyone and everyone. Whether you get the virus or not, in some way, our lives are being impacted. Schools are closed. Parties discouraged. Social distancing encouraged. Entire countries in lockdown. Toilet paper being bought up like it's gold. The list goes on and on.

Pretty stressful stuff for sure. Something out of a movie or book. Something none of us have ever experienced to the point that it might be surreal.

You probably find yourself stuck at home right now, looking for something to do. Netflix, Disney+, video games, books. Those are probably keeping everybody company.

I'd like to give you something to occupy your time while you wait this thing out. So, starting today until the end of the month (or possibly longer depending how all of this goes), you can read any of my books at no cost. This option is available through the Smashwords website using the coupon code listed below. (This coupon cod…
